StreamScout Privacy Policy

StreamScout does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information, and it has no accounts, analytics, or ads.

What stays on your device

Your region, the last tab you used, the streaming services you tell us you subscribe to, your pinned teams, your appearance choices, a cached list of team names, and (optionally) your own TMDB API key are saved in your browser's local extension storage (`chrome.storage.local`). This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

What is sent to third parties

To answer your searches, StreamScout sends the text you search for to:

  • TMDB (themoviedb.org), directly or through the StreamScout proxy, to find movies and shows and where they stream. If you use the proxy, it forwards your search text to TMDB, does not log it, and only caches responses.
  • ESPN (site.api.espn.com) to look up team schedules and broadcast information.

    • These services see your IP address as in any web request and are governed by their own privacy policies. No other data is transmitted.
